Anita grew up in Manchester attending Manchester Elementary Middle School and Burr and Burton Academy. She earned an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Vermont. Anita began her career in the clerk’s office working for Linda Spence as Assistant Town Clerk. She was appointed interim Town Clerk in 2014, and was subsequently elected Town Clerk in 2015. She received her Certified Vermont Clerk designation in September 2016, received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation in June 2020, and is currently working toward her Master Municipal Clerk designation through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
Anita is a past member-at-large on the New England Association of City and Town Clerks (NEACTC) executive board, a member of the Vermont Municipal Clerks’ and Treasurers’ Association (VMTCA) executive board, and a member of the VMCTA Fee Review Committee. Anita is a mentor to other Vermont clerks and a member of the New England Municipal Clerks Institute and Academy (NEMCIA) Class of 2022. Anita enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending sporting events with her son, jumping out of airplanes, and giving back to her community. Anita resides in Manchester with her family.
