CLERK’S OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16th THROUGH FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18th

The Clerk’s office will be closed Wednesday, November 16th through Friday, November 18th due to professional development. The clerk will be attending the New England Association of City and Town Clerks’ annual conference.

ALL OTHER SERVICES OFFERED IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE will resume on Monday, November 21st.

BALLOTS WERE MAILED TO ALL ACTIVE, REGISTERED VOTERS ON 9/26/2022

ATTENTION MANCHESTER VOTERS: Ballots were mailed to all active, registered voters on September 26, 2022. You may choose to use the ballot mailed to you or you may come to the polling place (Manchester Town Hall – 40 Jeff Williams Way) on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

If you did not receive a ballot by mail, please stop by the clerk’s office between the hours of 9am and 3pm to complete an affidavit of no ballot cast and to pick up your ballot.

If you are unable to stop by the clerk’s office, please email ballots@manchester-vt.gov with your full name, mailing address, physical address, phone number and year of birth. Please note: the email address ballots@manchester-vt.gov will only be active during elections.

POLITICAL SIGNAGE IN MANCHESTER, VERMONT

All signs, regardless of content, are now regulated only on physical and temporal characteristics. 

Most political signs are classified as temporary yard signs and must be registered online via the town’s website.

Assistant Town Clerk

The Town of Manchester is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and motivated candidate to serve as an Assistant Town Clerk. The 38.75-hour-per-week position offers an excellent benefits package and competitive wages in a fast-paced working environment.

The Assistant Town Clerk will report to the Town Clerk and will perform all duties assigned by the Town Clerk in accordance with Vermont State Statutes and Town policies and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in answering phones, responding to questions from the general public, and processing mail.
  • Assist in the maintenance of official records and documents pertaining to real property, vital statistics, permits, licenses, and other matters.
  •  Assist in overseeing the municipal vault while following preservation guidance for the protection of all Town documents.
  • Assist in the recording/filing of Town records, land records, and vital records.
  • Assist in issuing various licenses including, but not limited to marriage licenses, dog licenses, liquor licenses, and any other such license, permit, or document as so directed by Federal, State, or local government.
  • Assist the Town Clerk with Elections.
  • Comply with the agreement between the Town of Manchester and the Manchester Town Clerk.
  • Other such duties as may be assigned in the absence of the Town Clerk.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a busy environment while in direct contact with the general public and other town officials while working in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft word, Microsoft excel and Google applications will be required. Experience with COTT systems, land record research, or website design is ideal.

Compensation will be commensurate with the above knowledge and experience. A competitive benefits package is included. The Clerk’s office is generally open Monday – Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM with 45 minutes for lunch. Some nights and weekends required during Elections.

Early/absentee voting is available Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in the clerk’s office and will end on August 8, 2022 at 4:30pm.

Polls will be OPEN at Manchester Town Hall on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
